The Cobb EMC Forum is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 corporation first established in August 2012 when Take Back Cobb EMC and the Cobb EMC Customers’ Alliance joined forces to provide a source for all things Cobb EMC and the place to keep you informed and active in your co-op. The Cobb EMC Forum’s ongoing mission is to support Georgians residing in the service territory of Cobb EMC through charitable, educational, and scientific activities to ensure that the EMC is managed in the best interest of its customers/owners.
Take Back Cobb EMC (TBCE) was founded in early 2010 to provide the mobilization, communication, and resources necessary for Cobb EMC members to successfully participate in the recent board elections. TBCE was a citizen-based organization that served as a strong, united voice for Cobb EMC members. TBCE spearheaded the effort that led to the successful election of reform candidates to the Cobb EMC board of directions in 2011 and 2012.
The Cobb EMC Customers’ Alliance was established in March 2012 by four of the plaintiffs in the suit brought against Cobb EMC, along with several concerned Cobb EMC member/owners, to support the election of independent-minded candidates to the Cobb EMC board of directors. The efforts of the Customers’ Alliance led to the successful election of board members including Bryan Boyd, Kelly Bodner, Eric Broadwell, and Tripper Sharp.
